Best songs for group singing

Karaoke can be a personal experience to overcome shyness and feel good, as well as a simple opportunity to have fun, laugh and share quality time with the ones we love.

Everyone is tempted when singing in public, to invite friends to share the mic. Aren't we all looking for some sort of approval on our friend's face when our eyes leave the lyrics?

The best moments during karaoke nights are without a doubt when the whole audience knows the lyrics, and they turn into live backing vocals or lead vocals. Think about this when you choose a song and feel a little bit shy. Select a happy, easy, and well known song that everybody knows.

In need of ideas? Feel free to use the list we've put together below that will ensure the audience is on-board with you!

I do a lot of karaoke with seniors (55+), and the love it when I toss in a group sing-along. I use Epson projector to put words up on big screen for audience to see.

Karaoke Version I have requested so many oldies and they are still not on the site, you have some songs I have not even heard of. this depends a lot on the group of friends: if they are seniors then I believe the oldies are most suitable.

I think there is a difference between group songs, where a bunch of drunk idiots get up and sing together - hilarious, by the way - and singalongs for the whole room. But they are all fun! You Never Even Called Me By My Name is big in Texas...

Tanya Tucker's "Texas When I Die" is an excellent group participation song, and is a lot of fun. Everyone wants to join in on this one, especially after a few bloody marys.

Well, if you are in the United States and the Midwest the all-time top sing-a-long song is "Friends In Low Places" by Garth Brooks.
I doubt any of our crowd would even know your 'best group songs' for the most part. We Will Rock You & Livin on A Prayer possibly, YMCA maybe. These 2 always get groups up at our show. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
                                                            • 8 years ago
