"Leaving on a Jet Plane," written by John Denver in 1966 and popularized by Peter, Paul and Mary in 1969, is a poignant folk song about the pain of parting and the uncertainty of return. The song's full-hearted lyrics and floating melody capture the bittersweet emotions of leaving loved ones behind. John Denver's original version appeared on his 1969 debut album Rhymes & Reasons, but it was Peter, Paul and Mary's rendition that brought the song to widespread fame, becoming their biggest and final hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song's enduring appeal lies in its relatable theme of departure and longing, which traverses eras and generations. it is very difficult to pitch the starting vocal from the intro which is in a different key. The key change is very odd. There needs to be some sort of vocal indication

I would rather have had a Peter Paul and Mary version.
