Hippie, activist and environmentalist John Denver took inspiration from the great outdoors for this simile-packed folkie gem from 1974: "You fill up my senses, like a night in a forest / Like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain / Like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean / You fill up my senses, come fill me again," he sings in the opening verse. Streaked with mandolin and soaring bursts of strings, "Annie's Song" is a love letter to John Denver's first wife, Annie Martell, and, as legend has it, was penned in ten minutes as the late star – who died in a plane crash on October 12, 1997 aged 53 – sat on a ski lift in Aspen, Colorado following an argument with his then-wife. The song was released as a single and featured on John Denver's eighth studio album Back Home Again (1974). It became his second chart-topper in the US, also reaching Number 1 in the UK.

Each improved track sounds like a Master track and as performers, this is what we need so the audience can be 'drawn into' the story a song tells -

Using Std Guitar tuning, Great to play this song on 12 String but in Key G, so only way to play along ( i figure ) is to drop Karaoke-Version down to Key C then slap a Capo on 5th Fret. However would sound better if Karaoke-Version could do a version in Key G then no Capo required. Think I will send them a request, here's hoping! -
