Two of the UK's beloved musical treasures put their heads together in 1985 to bake this delicious slice of pop perfection. "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" was written by Elton John and his lyricist Bernie Taupin and released as a single in 1974 when it reached Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Number 16 on the UK Singles Chart. Nearly twenty years later, the song leaped back into the public consciousness via this celebrated live duet, which was memorably performed by Elton John and George Michael for the first time at Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in July 1985. Their iconic, shiver-inducing performance for Live Aid (which included George Michael singing and Elton John playing as well as singing and featured backup vocals from his Wham! partner Andrew Ridgeley and Elton John collaborator Kiki Dee) was followed six years later by another live duet, this time for George Michael's Cover to Cover tour (which regularly included this song) and notably for the final show at Wembley Arena on March 23 1991, when George Michael unveiled Elton John as a surprise guest.

I've got several karaoke discs that claim to have the George Michael & Elton John duet version that was a hit in 1991 on them, but they don't. THIS IS IT, and the lyric video is very well done.
