Perhaps one of the most quintessential Elton John songs ever, "Rocket Man (I Think It's Going to Be a Long, Long Time)" was released as the lead single from his fifth studio album Honky Château in 1972. It was written by Elton John and frequent collaborator and lyricist Bernie Taupin, who drew inspiration from a shorty story titled Rocket Man included in Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man. Produced by Gus Dudgeon, who also worked on David Bowie's "Space Oddity," the song is a classical rock ballad with a modern twist, featuring synthesizers, processed slide guitar, and lush vocal harmonies courtesy of Elton John's backing band. Set in a not so distant future in which being an astronaut is considered a job like any other, "Rocket Man (I Think It's Going to Be a Long, Long Time)" tells the story of a Mars-bound space traveler experiencing a bout of ennui regarding his daily routine. Shortly after its release, the track reached Number 2 on the UK Singles Chart and Number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has since become a stape of Elton John's live repertoire.

I realize that the music for the original song has little or no intro beats (or notes) before the vocalist is supposed to start singing, but it would help if this one had a few intro beats. -
