The song "Holding Out for a Hero" was recorded by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler for the soundtrack of the 1984 musical drama Footloose. Co-written by screenwriter Dean Pitchford and producer Jim Steinman, who took part in the sessions by request from Bonnie Tyler, "Holding Out for a Hero" is a fast-paced electro-rock song that bears many similarities to Jim Steinman's prior work with Meat Loaf: epic lyrical content, booming drums, and baroque instrumental arrangements. In fact, the song's intro was previously used by the producer on the track "Stark Raving Love" from his 1981 solo album, Bad for Good. In the film, the song appears in a scene where the main character (played by Kevin Bacon) is challenged to a game of chicken involving tractors. "Holding Out for a Hero" was released as a commercial single in early 1984 and became a Top 40 hit in the US, Canada, and several European countries. It was also included in Bonnie Tyler's sixth studio album, Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire (1986).

Great track! The heavy guitar at the beginning is a little off putting, but otherwise great!
