Wagon Wheel - Darius Rucker - MP3 instrumental karaoke

Darius Rucker included a version of “Wagon Wheel” on his 2013 True Believers album. The song has an interesting history. Bob Dylan wrote the chorus in 1973 but never officially released it. Twenty-five years later, upon hearing a bootleg sketch of the unfinished song, Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show added verses. He had been homesick for the South while at school in New Hampshire and the lyrics tell of hitchhiking home to North Carolina to see his lover. Rucker joined Old Crow Medicine Show for a special performance of their song at The Grand Ole Opry in 2012. The response was so great that he soon tweeted out that he’d recorded a version of “Wagon Wheel” for his new album. Fellow country artists Lady Antebellum sing background vocals on the record.
