"I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" is a power ballad by American rock band Aerosmith, released in 1998 as the theme song for the sci-fi disaster film Armageddon. The movie had a personal touch for Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler, as his daughter, Liv Tyler, starred in it. The song was penned by legendary songwriter Diane Warren, who'd made her name writing songs for artists such as Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Barbra Streisand. Produced by Matt Serletic, "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" is a sweeping romantic ballad featuring rock instrumentation as well as orchestral strings, with lyrics about love and devotion so deep that the singer misses their significant other even in their sleep. "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" was a massive success, peaking at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and charting highly in multiple countries. The song became an Oscar nominee at the 71st Academy Awards, and has gone on to become a staple in Aerosmith's sets as well as one of the band's most enduring songs.

A great sounding track. Love the updated version, however the ending is a little long. Good for a last spot to walk off to I suppose, but I'd rarely finish with a song like this.
