"Emo Girl" is the second single from American rapper and singer Machine Gun Kelly's sixth studio album, Mainstream Sellout. Released amidst the 2020s pop-punk revival, the song features appearances by former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and singer Willow Smith, the daughter of Hollywood actor Will Smith. It was first previewed on MGK's TikTok account in January 2022 with the working title "Cherry Red Lipstick" and was later released as a single in February of that year. Written by Colson "Machine Gun Kelly" Baker, Nick Long, Brandon Allen, Steve Basil, Travis Barker, and Willow Smith, "Emo Girl" opens up with a soundbite from MGK's fiancée Megan Fox (taken from the 2009 film Jennifer's Body) and quickly builds up into a saccharine pop-punk love song that lists several stereotypes associated with the emo subculture. "Emo Girl" debuted at Number 9 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and peaked at Number 77 on the Billboard Hot 100.
