"Rosanna" is a song by American rock band Toto, included in their 1982 fourth studio album Toto IV. According to its author, songwriter David Paich, the track is based on several women he had met throughout his life, although the band sometimes joked that "Rosanna" was dedicated to actress Rosanna Arquette, who was dating keyboardist David Porcaro at the time. Featuring a distinctive half-time drum pattern that would later become known as the "Rosanna shuffle" and complex, layered keyboard solos, the song was once described by the group's members as "the ultimate Toto track." After being released as the first single from Toto IV on March 31, 1982, "Rosanna" reached Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and had quite an impact in the UK as well, peaking at Number 12 and staying there for eight consecutive weeks. "Rosanna" was later covered by numerous artists, including alternative rock band Weezer, who also released a cover of Toto's "Africa" in 2018.
