"Gasoline" is the second track on the album – which grabbed the top spot in 10 countries worldwide, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the United Kingdom – and sees Abel Tesfaye intimately depict a codependent relationship with a lover, as well as addressing his own drug dependency issues. On "Gasoline", The Weeknd implores his lover to stay: "It's only safe for you and me (Don't let me go) / I know you won't let me OD (Don't you let me go) / And if I finally die in peace (Oh yeah) / Just wrap my body in these sheets / And pour out the gasoline / It don't mean much to me". "Gasoline" was brought to life by a stomach-churning body horror-esque video in which The Weeknd attacks his older self, who may or may not represent some sort of demon.
