Sunshine - The O'Jays - MP3 instrumental karaoke

Led by vocalists Eddie Levert and Walter Williams, American R&B group The O'Jays cut out a few albums for a handful of independent labels in the late 1960s and even considered quitting the music business before joining the roster of Gamble & Huff's Philadelphia International Records in 1972. Back Stabbers, their first release for the label, came out later that year and proved to be their breakthrough album, reaching Number 3 on the US R&B charts and obtaining Gold certification by the RIAA shortly after. Even though this success was largely built on the back of chart-topping singles such as "Love Train" and the title track, Back Stabbers also featured the deep cut "Sunshine," a soulful ballad that celebrates the feeling of love and joy that comes with finding that special someone. Written by producer Bunny Sigler and arranger Phil Hurtt, "Sunshine" didn't enter the US charts upon its release but a 1974 live version titled "Sunshine (Part II)" peaked at Number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100.
