This timeless disco glitterball from The Emotions has been a mainstay at weddings and on dancefloors since 1977 and has no plans on leaving just yet. Created by Maurice White and Al McKay of the legendary Earth, Wind & Fire, and produced by Maurice White and Clarence McDonald, "Best of My Love" rose to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 and US Billboard R&B charts—where it stuck around for five weeks; the record for a female group at the time—while also cracking the top five in the UK and Canada, the top 10 in New Zealand, and the top 20 in Australia. The track was included on The Emotions' fourth studio album Rejoice, released in 1977, and was crowned Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals at the 20th Annual Grammy Awards that year while also picking up an American Music Award for Favorite Soul/R&B Single. "Best of My Love" has also been immortalised on film in the classics Boogie Nights (1998) and Summer of Sam (1999).
