Few songs can lay claim to a moment in time quite like Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff.” The 1979 disco single, recorded for Donna Summer’s seventh studio album Bad Girls (1979), came at just the right time, at the height of disco’s popularity in the United States. It was produced by Pete Bellotte along with legendary Italian producer Giorgio Moroder. “Hot Stuff” was a tremendous success, remaining at Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three non-consecutive weeks. The song was awarded the Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and was listed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
