Steel Panther intend their music to be taken with a pinch of salt. The outlandish faux glam metal band first stepped out on the Sunset Strip in the early 2000s under the Metal Shop moniker and morphed into Metal Skool before settling on their current name. Their schtick is a comedic one; they satirise and overemphasize the pomp, theatrics, and general ridiculousness of the hair and glam metal era – like Spinal Tap but with actual records. And although their more controversial jokes and profane lyrics don't always go down well, they have a string of albums under their studded belt and show no signs of slowing down. On their monstrous calling card "Eyes of a Panther," ferocious riffs, hair-raising solos, and the shrieking voice of Michael Starr keep you engaged. The track was featured on their 2009 album Feel the Steel and used on the soundtrack for the skateboarding video game Skate 3.
