Steel Panther's acoustic power ballad "Community Property" conveys the parody hair metal band's tongue-in-cheek aesthetic in its NSFW lyrics that depict the cliched – and backward-looking – life of a rock star on the road, with lead vocalist Michael Starr doling out grossly misogynist stereotypes that hark back to the cock-rock era. The song's opening line ("I would give you the stars in the sky / But they’re too far away") takes inspiration from popular love songs, while the rest of the song contains controversial and explicit lyrics that are certainly not family-friendly. "Community Property" was featured on Steel Panther's debut studio album Feel the Steel, which was first released in Europe on June 2009 on Universal Records and which sets out the pseudo-comedy rock band's stall with an album full of jokes that are definitely not for everyone.
