Their sonic shake-up paid off: Moving Pictures yielded the band's highest-selling album in the US and a huge hit in album opener "Tom Sawyer" as well as a Grammy nomination for instrumental "YYZ"). Halloween creeper "Witch Hunt" is also the third part of the Canadian rockers' Fear Series – comprising four tracks exploring the concept of fear, which ended with Part IV: "Freeze" from 2002's Vapor Trails and released the first three parts in reverse order. "Witch Hunt" starts off sparsely, eerily, and modestly, with pronounced drums from Neil Peart and the bewitching vocals of Geddy Lee casting a haunting spell before the song builds to a crescendo and bursts open with the latter's powerful wails.
