1989's "You Got It" is peak second wave Roy Orbison, neatly inserting itself into his portfolio of hits, albeit posthumously. The Texas-born crooner rose to fame as a rockabilly rebel in the mid-1950s and, with his signature quiff and dark sunglasses, quickly established himself as a national hero. His popularity and output dipped during the 1970s, compounded by his triple coronary bypass operation in January 1978. But he made a triumphant comeback in the 1980s, first winning a Grammy Award for his "That Lovin' You Feelin' Again" duet with Emmylou Harris and later joining supergroup the Traveling Wilburys, who helped him lay down a comeback album. Mystery Girl was completed in November 1988, one month before Roy Orbison's death from a heart attack on 6 December 1988. "You Got It" was released as a solo single the following year, and became Roy Orbison's first hit to crack the US and UK Top 10 in nearly 25 years.
