"Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" was originally the lead single from Mark Ronson's 2019 fifth studio album, Late Night Feelings. Mark Ronson began working on the song with American singer and country-pop star Miley Cyrus in May 2018 and released it officially in November of that year. Shortly after its commercial release, "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" reached the top of the US Dance Club Songs chart and peaked at Number 2 in the United Kingdom, also reaching the Top 10 in countries like Australia, Belgium, and the Netherlands. In 2021, English singer-songwriter Rory Graham (better known by his stage name Rag'n'Bone Man) threw his hat in the ring, delivering a soulful performance of "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" for the BBC Airwaves online festival. Unlike the glossy country-disco pop of the original version, Rag'n'Bone Man offered a more bluesy take on the song, with subtle instrumentation that highlighted his deep, baritone voice.
