"Revolution Calling" is a song by Queensrÿche from their third studio album, Operation: Mindcrime. Released in 1988, Operation: Mindcrime is both a concept album and a rock opera. In "Revolution Calling," the protagonist, Nikki, expresses his disillusionment with the media, politicians, and society. "I used to trust the media / To tell me the truth, tell us the truth / But now I've seen the payoffs everywhere I look / Who do you trust when everyone's a crook?" Vocalist Geoff Tate wrote the album's concept by combining memories of friends who had become addicted to drugs and conversations he'd had with members of a Quebec militant separatist group. The album has been called "a masterpiece" by LA Weekly and compared to The Who's Quadrophenia and Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon by Metal Forces.
"Revolution Calling" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
