John Lennon’s "Imagine" is one of the 100 most performed songs of the 20th century. Hundreds of artists have covered the song including Joan Baez, Christina Aguilera, Ray Charles, and Susan Boyle. Released in 1971 from his album of the same name, “Imagine” is the former Beatle’s most critically and commercially successful song as a solo artist. Some religious groups were upset by the perceived anti-religion sentiment expressed in the song’s lyric, particularly the line “Imagine there’s no heaven”.
