"Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is a song by Frankie Valli, written by fellow Four Seasons’ bandmate Bob Gaudio and producer Bob Crewe. The song, which takes advantage of the singer's incredible range starts softly and then explodes into a belted, brass-filled chorus of uncontained love. "I love you, baby / And if it's quite alright / I need you, baby / To warm the lonely night." Gaudio felt they had created a song that only Frankie Valli could sing. While it would be hard to match Valli's version, the song is one of the most covered songs of all time. Gaudio said that seeing the song used in the 1978 film The Deer Hunter, where characters sang along while a jukebox played the song in a bar, gave him the idea that his songs could exist in a more visual setting.
