"Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is a song written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio in 1967, and popularized by singer Frankie Valli, formerly of the Four Seasons. It was one of the singer's biggest hits, reaching Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for an entire week, only surpassed by The Association's "Windy." Shortly after its release, the song took off after being on constant rotation at the legendary CKLW radio station and was certified Gold in the United States after achieving sales of over 1 million copies. In 1997, a hip-hop-influenced version of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by American singer-songwriter and rapper Lauryn Hill (of The Fugees fame) became an unlikely hit after being included in the soundtrack of the thriller Conspiracy Theory. Recorded while the singer was eight months pregnant with her first child, the track received heavy airplay on the radio and reached Number 2 on the Rhythmic chart despite not having been released as a single. It was also included as a bonus track on her studio debut, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1997) and became the first hidden track to received a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1999.
