In 1984, Kenny Loggins – affectionately known as the 'King of the Movie Soundtrack' on account of his consistent appearances on soundtracks throughout the 1980s – put his voice to this freewheeling pop-rock nugget that was his second of two singles from the 1984 film. On "I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)," Kenny Loggins sings loud and proud about fearlessness in the face of love. "Heaven helps the man who fights his fear / Love's the only thing that keeps me here," he declares, before admitting: "Running away will never make you free / And nothing we sign is any kind of guarantee." The song made it to Number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 and enjoyed a rebirth decades later when it was featured on the video game Grand Theft Auto V’s (2013) radio station Los Santos Rock Radio and also appearance in an episode of animated series Family Guy.
