Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda stepped up to the plate for Disney's 60th film, Encanto, in 2021. This computer-animated fantasy comedy about a multigenerational Colombian family ended up winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film and for the soundtrack, Lin-Manuel Miranda conceived eight original songs in both Spanish and English. One of the highlights is “Two Oruguitas;" the English version of “Dos Oruguitas.” In Encanto,, "Two Oruguitas” – which soundtracks the end credits of the film – tells the tale of how Mirabel’s grandparents first met ("Two oruguitas in love and yearning / Spend every evening and morning learnin' / To hold each other, their hunger burning / To navigate a world / That turns and never stops turning") and how they ultimately had to separate ("Ay, mariposas, don't you hold on too tight / Both of you know it's your time to go, to fly apart, to reunite"). "Dos Oruguitas" was nominated for Best Original Score and Best Original Song at the 94th Academy Awards.
