This poppy, peppy Spanish-language homage to Colombia by Colombian star Carlos Vives champions Colombian music including vallenato and played in the credits to Disney's 2021 film Encanto. Encanto producer Lin-Manuel Miranda enlisted the talents of Carlos Vives, who then recorded the song with his own band. "Colombia, mi encanto" was one of the many stars of the Encanto soundtrack, which was released by Walt Disney Records on November 19, 2021, and boasted eight original songs written by the visionary Lin-Manuel Miranda, all produced by Mike Elizondo. A number of different singers stepped up to record songs for the Latin music-themed Encanto soundtrack, which also featured 27 score pieces composed by Germaine Franco. The album won the Annie Award for outstanding music in a feature film, as well as receiving two nominations at the 94th Academy Awards: the film score scooping Best Original Score, and the track "Dos Oruguitas" by Sebastián Yatra grabbing Best Original Song.
