Elvis Presley gave difficult and shaky relationships a voice in his 1969 chart-topper, "Suspicious Minds," a song about mistrust and infidelity that went on to be covered by everyone from Candi Staton to Ronan Keating. "We're caught in a trap / I can't walk out / Because I love you too much, baby / Why can't you see / What you're doing to me / When you don't believe a word I say?," croons "the King" on a rock 'n' roll belter which became his eighteenth and last Number 1 in the US. Written by Memphis singer Mark James (who also wrote the B.J. Thomas hit "Hooked On A Feeling") Elvis Presley notably recorded "Suspicious Minds" in Memphis rather than his go-to Nashville for the first time since 1955. With backup vocal assistance from singers Jeanie Greene and sisters Mary and Ginger Holliday, he recorded what went on to be one of his biggest hits and a comeback single that gave him his first Number 1 single since 1962's "Good Luck Charm."

A very well done track, as always. My one concern is that it ends too soon and doesn't have the fade in-fade-out feature of the original record.
