Elvis Presley plugged into the perspective of a suspicious lover in this rock 'n' roll classic about a dysfunctional relationship. Originally written in 1968 by Mark James (who also happened to be co-writer of another top Elvis tune, "Always on My Mind") "Suspicious Minds" was a commercial flop before "The King" sprinkled a little magic dust over it, and with the help of hotshot producer Chips Moman, scored a Number 1 and one of the best-known songs of his career. Released as part of his grand comeback in the late 1960s, this live version of the song was recorded at the Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite concert starring Elvis Presley that took place at the Honolulu International Center in January 1973 and captures all the riotous energy of Elvis in concert. In 1969, "Suspicious Minds" became Elvis Presley's eighteenth and final Number 1 single in the US before his death in August 1977.
