Cole Swindell writes a love letter to his perfect girl who "grew up on Mariah and Shania", has a "Diet Coke can rollin' 'round in her Camry" and "wants to be a mama" on the the title track of his fourth studio album Stereotype. His voice sounds wistful and contemplative at first, with a hint of a cheekiness in parts, but when he sends it rocketing in the track’s sweeping chorus, swirling around swooning slide guitar, he sounds positively euphoric. “It’s about a girl that you might think you know by looking [at her], but she might have a little wild side to her," he told Apple Music. Co-written with Michael Hardy and Jordan Schmidt, "Stereotype" was featured on his 2022 album – the follow-up to his hit 2018 LP All of It, which shot to number seven on the US Billboard 200 – but not released as a single, with "Single Saturday Night," and "Never Say Never" comprising the LP's only two singles.
