Kentucky hit-maker Chris Stapleton is an authentic chronicler of hardship, heartache, and the rural everyday, presiding over his bluesy, boozy, bluegrass kingdom with hits like “Tennessee Whiskey,” and "Starting Over." It's all in the pipes: his voice is smoky 'n' sweet like barbeque sauce and he squeezes it over the blues-rock ballad of "Millionaire," a mid-tempo acoustic-meets-electric fable about the importance of valuing love over material wealth. The track was originally written by Kevin Welch in 2002 and recorded by soul artist Solomon Burke on his 2006 homage to country music, Nashville. Chris Stapleton included his interpretation of "Millionaire" on his third studio album From A Room: Volume 2, which was produced by Dave Cobb and released in 2017. Like the aforementioned track "Starting Over," Chris Stapleton is joined by his wife and collaborator, Morgane, who adds her voice to the "Millionaire" chorus.
