“Joy of My Life” is a song by American country music singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton, released as part of his fourth album Starting Over in 2020. The song was originally written by legendary American singer-songwriter John Fogerty (of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame) on his 1997 album Blue Moon Swamp. The song is a country-tinged ballad about expressing joy and admiration for a significant other, feeling like “the luckiest man alive” to be in their presence, as well as trying to tip-toe around them when they’re sleeping so as to not wake them. In this sense, it is reminiscent of Kenny Rogers’s “She Believes in Me.” Musically, “Joy of My Life” is a simple arrangement built around an acoustic guitar riff, with a laid-back tempo to convey the song’s contemplative feeling.
