Bryan Adams was just 25 when he scored his first US Billboard Hot 100 Number 1 with Heaven. Recorded in 1983, the Canadian singer and songwriter had spent much of that year on tour with Journey, functioning as the band's opening act on their Frontiers Tour. It was during that tour that Journey birthed their Top 20 power ballad "Faithfully", and it was this track from which Bryan Adams would draw inspiration for "Heaven". Co-written with Jim Vallance, "Heaven" is a straight-up love song ("And baby you're all that I want / When you're lyin' here in my arms / I'm findin' it hard to believe / We're in Heaven") that finds paradise in romance, and first popped up on the soundtrack to US romantic drama A Night in Heaven that same year, which starred Christopher Atkins as a college student and Lesley Ann Warren as his professor. "Heaven" was included on Bryan Adams's fourth studio album Reckless in 1984, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Incredible. I used to be in a band back in the 80s and 90s, and covered this song. You guys hit every mark! Great job.

Wasn't there a version of this recorded by Michael Damian and Tracey E. Bregman as a duet?
