"Do you want to?" ask ABBA on the title track and centrepiece of their sixth studio album. Seizing on a French phrase and released in 1979, "Voulez-Vous" is a cheeky disco-indebted stormer that emerged at the height of the disco genre. Penned and composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, with lead vocals assigned to both Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, "Voulez-Vous" was recorded in the Bahamas, and became the only ABBA track to be recorded by the Swedish group outside of their homeland. Though the single failed to reach the top of the charts, it did place in the top three in Ireland, the UK, and the Netherlands. However, the best-selling Voulez-Vous made a strong impression, topping the charts all over the place and spawning hits in "Chiquitita," "Does Your Mother Know," and "I Have a Dream." Nonetheless, "Voulez-Vous" remains one of ABBA's most treasured gems; a sequinned time capsule of the era.
