"Dust My Broom" was brought into the world in 1936 by devilishly legendary bluesman Robert Johnson as "I Believe I'll Dust My Broom" and performed as a Delta blues-style track, later becoming a slide guitar favorite. The song, which is considered a blues standard – and has been selected for the Blues Foundation Blues Hall of Fame, the Grammy Hall of Fame, and the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry – has been covered by various artists over the years, including Ike & Tina Turner, who recorded a single version in 1966 that made it to Number 54 in the US, Fleetwood Mac – who recorded the track for their second album, Mr. Wonderful in 1968 – and Texas rockers ZZ Top, who lay down the tune for their 1979 album Degüello, also making it a staple of their live shows.
