Whitesnake deal out a smoldering slab of power balladry with "Too Many Tears," on which rocker David Coverdale is in regretful mode: "There've been too many tears falling / And there've been too many hearts / Breaking in two / Remember what we had together / Believing it would last forever / So tell me baby / Where did I go wrong." The London hard rockers first assembled in 1978 with former Deep Purple member David Coverdale sticking around as Whitesnake's only constant member. By the time they released "Too Many Tears" in 1997, a lot had happened to the band, including a BRIT Award win and three UK Top 10 albums. "Too Many Tears" was featured on their ninth studio album, Restless Heart, which saw Whitesnake take it down a notch and make it to Number 34 in the UK, where they hung around for three weeks. The track also reached Number 5 in Sweden and the Top 10 in Finland and Japan.
