Featured on Firewater, the second album from Texan band Whiskey Myers – aka Cody Cannon (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), John Jeffers (lead guitar, slide guitar, lap steel guitar, vocals), Cody Tate (lead and rhythm guitar), Jeff Hogg (drums), Tony Kent (percussion/drums), and Jamey Gleaves (bass) – "Bar, Guitar and a Honky Tonk Crowd" does exactly what it says on the tin. You can practically feel the hilltop breeze running through your hair as soon as the opening verse chimes in; "Embers floating on a south bound breeze / Somewhere between heaven and tall pine trees / Heartland I’m missing you / Guitar banging through the night / I’m feeling pretty good yeah I’m feeling alright / But good is one for the price of two." This solid country-rock offering was covered by several artists including Brent Cobb in 2020, and is the opening track on Firewater, which was released by Wiggy Thump Records in 2011, and took the group's career to new heights, landing a Top 30 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
