Co-written by Waylon Jennings and songwriter Don Bowman, "Just to Satisfy You" signposted the former's fertile period of the '60s – where he won his first Grammy Award in 1969 for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "MacArthur Park," which he recorded with The Kimberlys – and later became the title track of his 1969 album. He went on to record a duet version with Willie Nelson in 1982, which shot to the top of the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart – their third number-one country hit as a duo – while "Just to Satisfy You" was also covered by Glen Campbell, Jerry Reed, and Barbara Mandrell in the years that followed.
