Stinkfist" is a song from Tool's second studio album Ænima. The song deals with the desire to feel to the point of overstimulation and numbness. Frontman and lyricist Maynard James Keenan sings over an alt-metal track that alternates between a distant, compressed verse sound to a speaker blasting guitar driven chorus. "I need more Nothing seems to satisfy / I don't want it, I just need it To breathe, to feel, to know I'm alive." The album's unusual title is the combination of the Latin word for life force, and enema. Ænima was dedicated to the comedian Bill Hicks who had died a few years before the album was released.
The backing track for "Stinkfist" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
