Sung in the film by the meerkat and warthog comedy duo of Timon (voiced by Nathan Lane) and Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella) – with a young Simba (voiced by Jason Weaver) joining in towards the end – this upbeat singalong classic from 1994's treasured The Lion King soundtrack teaches an invaluable life lesson about positivity and moving on. "Hakuna matata! What a wonderful phrase! Hakuna matata! Ain't no passing craze! / It means no worries, for the rest of your days... / It's our problem-free philosophy..." The words were penned by celebrated lyricist Tim Rice – famed for his collaborations with Andrew Lloyd Webber – who found the "Hakuna Matata" ("no worries) phrase in a Swahili phrasebook and who used the song to soundtrack Simba's emotional journey following the death of his father Mufasa. The music for "Hakuna Matata" was composed by Elton John and the song – nominated for Best Song at the 67th Academy Awards – became one of Disney's enduring icons.
