Marching at the forefront of the world-famous Philadelphia sound – a romantically inclined reservoir of silky, strings-brushed soul that gushed through the US city in the late '60s and '70s – vocal group The Delfonics were steered by lead vocalist and founding member, the late William "Poogie" Hart, and arranger and producer Thom Bell, who made their name with a string of timeless hits including "La-La (Means I Love You)" and "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)." Released as a single with "Over and Over" in 1972 and built on a soft bed of floaty flute, sensual horns and The Delfonics' famed vocal harmonies, "Hey! Love" is among the group's must-hear and most-loved tracks. Rising to number 17 on the US R&B Charts and number 52 on the US Billboard 100, "Hey! Love" was the most sucessful single on The Delfonics' fourth album, Tell Me This is A Dream, which was released in 1972 on Philly soul institution, Philly Groove Records.
