The Carpenters’ version of “There’s a Kind of Hush (All Over the World),” originally written by Geoff Stephens and Les Reed, was released on February 12, 1976 as the lead single from their album A Kind of Hush, produced by Richard Carpenter. Recorded in December 1975, the track features Karen Carpenter’s warm, breathy voice atop lush, country-pop–tinged orchestration—a departure from the song's 1967 Herman’s Hermits version. The remake peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became their thirteenth Number 1 on the US Billboard Easy Listening chart, while reaching number 22 on the UK Singles Chart. With its gentle melody, layered harmonies, and soft rhythmic drive, “There’s a Kind of Hush (All Over the World)” reflected the duo’s penchant for polishing familiar pop gems into sophisticated, radio-ready ballads, contributing to the album’s Gold certification and securing its place in the duo’s late-1970s catalog.

This is a much improved version thank you - it seems to be a softer sound but still with nice kick drums and bass
