Starting off with a joyous whistled melody,“If It’s Love,” one of the singles off of Sting’s fifteenth studio album The Bridge (2021), is an upbeat pop song whose sunny disposition is cleverly set against a somewhat darker lyrical content; the song was written as a rumination on loss, love, and death during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. However, it seeks to be an affirmation of love and hope in the face of devastation. “If It’s Love” was produced by Sting along with Martin Kierszenbaum. Though it didn't enter any official charts, the track received praises from critics and pushed its parent album to Number 27 on the UK Albums Chart.
