Rush touched on a disco motif for their 1974 tune "In the Mood," weaving cowbell into a song about getting amorous. They take the indirect route, however, preferring to use the term "Rock 'n' Roll" as a substitute for sexual intercourse ("Ooh, you drive me crazy / Baby, you're the one / I just want to rock and roll you woman / Until the night is done"). The Canadian power trio was formed in 1968 by bassist/keyboardist/vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer Neil Peart and soared through the '70s to become one of rock's most venerated and enduring bands. Contained on their 1974 self-titled debut – which was a document of hard rock forged five years after their formation "In the Mood," which was famously at least two years old when they decided to include it on Rush, went on to become a live staple of the band. It was also notably one of the only Rush tunes to even get close to resembling a love song.
