"Sarà perché ti amo," which translates to "It must be because I love you," is a 1981 Italo disco treasure released by pop troupe Ricchi e Poveri who originally assembled in 1967 as a polyphonic quartet comprising singers Angela Brambati, Angelo Sotgiu, Franco Gatti and Marina Occhiena. The track formed the guiding star of their ninth studio album, ...E penso a te. The group rocketed to number one on the Italian singles chart with the soaring song, which was in subsequent decades taken up by AC Milan as a football chant. "Sarà perché ti amo" has been reinterpreted by a plethora of artists over the years, from Mexican singer Thalía and her Spanish-language cover "Será porque te amo" to a Eurohouse version by DJ Matrix & Matt Joe featuring Carolina Marquez, released in 2018. "Sarà perché ti amo" made an appearance on the soundtrack for 2003 French slasher High Tension (released as Switchblade Romance in the UK).
