When Freddie Mercury presented his lyrics for "Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to...)" to the rest of the band, they were initially shocked but agreed it needed to be recorded. "You suck my blood like a leech / You break the law and you breach /Screw my brain till it hurts / You've taken all my money, and you want more." Although he isn't named in the lyrics, the song is about their original manager, Norman Sheffield. The band was recording hits but not seeing any money. Drummer Andy Taylor remembers seeing management driving around in limos but being told not to hit the drums too hard because they couldn't afford drumsticks. After suing the band and record label for defamation, Sheffield received an out-of-court settlement.
