San Diego rockers Pierce the Veil were formed in 2006 by brothers Vic and Mike Fuentes following the dissolution of Before Today (formerly Early Times) and released their debut studio album A Flair for the Dramatic in 2007, with second album Selfish Machines coming in 2010. "Let's scream until there's nothing left", roars Vic Fuentes on "King for a Day," a resilient anthem about standing up to others. This uncompromising track features Kellin Quinn of the Florida band Sleeping with Sirens as a guest vocalist and is one of the standout tracks and the first single from the band's third studio album Collide with the Sky (2012), an energetic maelstrom of lighting-quick riffage and emo rock radness. The album—the band's first release for Fearless Records—debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200 and in October 2016 was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
