Ever since they began playing together in the mid-1990s, Nickelback have become one of the most commercially successful Canadian rock bands of all time, reaching the peak of their popularity in the 2000s with the album Silver Side Up (2001) and its multi-platinum-selling lead single "How You Remind Me." After a long run of successful albums such as The Long Road (2004), All the Right Reasons (2005), Dark Horse (2008), Here and Now (2011), and No Fixed Address (2014), the band decided to take some time off their schedule to begin working on a follow-up to 2017's Feed the Machine. Get Rollin', Nickelback's tenth studio effort, was finally released in 2022 and was promoted through the singles "San Quentin," "Those Days," and "High Time." Written by Chad Kroeger, Jeff Johnson, Mike Kroeger, and Simon Klow, the latter is a country-flavored, pro-marijuana tune that reached Number 26 on Canada's Digital charts. Unlike the previous singles from the album, "High Time" has a groovy jam feel and finds lead singer Chad Kroeger adding a healthy dose of Southern twang to his vocal delivery.
