The track originally featured lyrics about sex, before James Hetfield stepped in after the aforementioned one-time Metallica member quit to join Megadeth. James Hetfield transformed the song's lyrical content into a darker meditation on death and infernal damnation, evoking terrifying imagery of people 'jumping into the fire'.
