Charlotte, North Carolina-born country star Luke Combs released his most fully realised statement of musical intent in 2022 with his third studio album Growin' Up, bringing everything he has learned to date all under one roof while enlisting the help of country queen Miranda Lambert on bittersweet-sounding collaborative track “Outrunnin’ Your Memory.” That year, he ended up scoring the highest debut for a country album, shooting to number two on the US Billboard 200 and racking up his fourth top-five album in the US. Co-written with Thomas Archer, D. Isbell, James McNair, and Montana, Growin' Up track "On the Other Line" finds the two-time Grammy-winner singing the praises of a traditional rural pastime, fishing, reeling in his fans with a splash of cheeky humour: "Sorry, honey, but I got to click over / I got a six pound large mouth on the other line," he jokes to his wife.
