"I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow / I'm drunk and dirty, don't you know, but I'm still willin'", begins Arizona native Linda Ronstadt on "Willin'". "Out on the road late last night / I'd see my pretty Alice in every headlight, Alice, Dallas Alice". Nomadic country tale and trucker anthem "Willin'" tells the story of a truck driver's experience of life on the road, driving "from Tucson to Tucumcari" and "Tehachapi to Tonopah", and was originally written by Lowell George while he was a member of the band Mothers of Invention. The tune was recorded by the genre-defying Linda Ronstadt for her 1974 breakthrough album Heart Like a Wheel. This landmark LP, which was selected by the Library of Congress to be inducted into the National Recording Registry in 2013, topped the Billboard 200 and was nominated for Album Of The Year at the 18th Annual Grammy Awards.
